Pause at the Wyoming line

A quiet community at the state line gives the Black Hills–to–Devils Tower route a slower, more local beginning.

Beulah works best as a peaceful meal, lodging or history stop between Spearfish and Sundance—not as a long checklist of attractions.

Why stop in Beulah

Beulah sits just west of the South Dakota line along the I-90 corridor. It offers a calmer alternative to the larger Black Hills towns while keeping Spearfish and Sundance within easy reach.

Use it as an overnight when the next day begins at Devils Tower, or as the place where an eastbound Wyoming trip transitions into the Black Hills.

Visit the Vore Buffalo Jump

The Vore Buffalo Jump lies near Beulah and preserves a natural sinkhole used for communal bison hunting. The seasonal interpretive site is one of the region's most significant historical stops.

Confirm current hours and tours before making the site the center of the day.

Continue toward Devils Tower

Follow I-90 west to Sundance, then take US 14 and Wyoming 24 to the monument. Stop in Sundance for fuel, food, the Crook County Museum or a walk around downtown.

Best forTravelers who want a quiet Wyoming-line stop and an easy link between Spearfish, the Vore Buffalo Jump, Sundance and Devils Tower.
