Stay near Devils Tower or in Hulett for the closest start. Choose Sundance for I-90 convenience and more town services, or look west toward Moorcroft, Pine Haven and Keyhole for water and camping.
Stay closest to the monument
Lodging and campgrounds around Devils Tower put the landscape outside the door and make an early park arrival easy. Many properties are small or seasonal, so availability can be limited.
Hulett is the closest town north of the monument. It adds restaurants and everyday services while keeping the Tower at the center of the trip.
Use Sundance as an I-90 base
Sundance is the strongest choice for travelers who want straightforward interstate access, a larger selection of services and an easy eastern approach to Devils Tower.
It also works well when the itinerary includes the Vore Buffalo Jump, Spearfish or the Bearlodge Mountains. The tradeoff is a longer morning drive to the monument than a stay in Hulett or near the entrance.
Look west for Keyhole and Moorcroft
Moorcroft is practical for visitors arriving from Gillette or continuing west on I-90. Pine Haven and Keyhole State Park suit travelers who want boating, fishing, camping or a cabin in the same trip.
Treat the reservoir as its own half-day or overnight experience rather than a quick detour after a full monument visit.
Reserve for the season you are visiting
Summer weekends and major regional events can tighten lodging throughout Northeast Wyoming and the Black Hills. Book early when the date is fixed.
Outside summer, confirm operating dates, food options and check-in arrangements directly. Small properties may use limited or seasonal schedules.
