Belle Fourche River Campground is the only campground inside the monument. Private campgrounds near the entrance add services, while Keyhole and the national forest expand the trip.

Inside Devils Tower National Monument

Belle Fourche River Campground provides established camping inside the monument. It is seasonal and does not offer hookups, so confirm dates, fees, water availability and site rules with the park before relying on it.

Camping elsewhere inside the monument is not allowed. The park’s night sky and quick morning access are the main advantages.

Near the park entrance

Private campgrounds outside the gate may offer RV hookups, cabins, showers, food and other traveler services. They work well for visitors who want the Tower close but need more infrastructure.

Peak summer weekends and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally period can fill regional sites well ahead of arrival. Reserve early when the date matters.

Keyhole State Park

Keyhole State Park places the campsite beside a large reservoir between Moorcroft and Sundance. It suits boaters, anglers and travelers who want water recreation with a Devils Tower day trip.

The state park has multiple campgrounds and uses reservations during its main camping season. Only some areas have hookups, so select the specific campground carefully.

Black Hills National Forest

The Bearlodge Ranger District provides developed and dispersed options on the Wyoming side of the Black Hills. Roads, fire restrictions and water availability can change with the season.

Carry a current motor-vehicle or recreation map and follow district guidance. Dispersed camping requires more self-reliance than a private or state-park site.

Confirm before leaving the interstateOpening dates, potable water, fire rules and reservation systems can change independently at every campground.
